Exploration Notes

November Update

This past month we were so busy with the shark tooth hunt earlier in the month and with teaching open water and nitrox that we didn't get to the river cave ;-( We will have an update on it this coming month, please keep checking for an update.

Also this month we are heading south to the cave systems of north FL. We will be scootering the Little River cave system, along with doing several runs in the Peacock, Telford, and Cow systems. We might even get to Manatee if time allows. Check back after Thanksgiving for an update and pictures.

October 2001 Update

Well, this past weekend (10-5/6/7-01) we had the wonderful opportunity to explore the Cooper River in South Carolina. We want to thank Johnny Cercopely for a wonderfully guided tour. One Question Though, How did the women on the boat end up with bigger teeth than the ones who dove? :-)

We had eight in attendance and five divers dredging for the fossilized shark teeth. We also had a great time of fellowship with everyone over dinner and camping.

October 2001

Well this month was a bust also on our new cave exploration ;-) We went on the Florida trip and come back to continue the move and expansion of our shop. We made an attempt to travel out to the cave on Sunday the 30th, and on the way the fuel filter on the boat clogged and we did not want to chance the long boat ride. The boat is fixed and ready to go now, so after the shark tooth hunt we will have an update on the cave. SO PLEASE CHECK BACK.

Thanks I.D.T

September 2001

This month we are sad to say that we did not get to explore the new found cave system. Therefore we do not have an update yet, but on the bright side of all this we want to extend a grateful thank you to all the customers that have done business with us and allowed for the move and expansion of the I.D.T retail store and training facility.

I.D.T had a wonderful time over the four day, labor day weekend and want to send out a great big kudos to divemaster Chris Cantrell for planning a great fresh water spring adventure along with some great offshore wreck diving. Chris is part of the great friends and affiliates Tech Divers, that I.D.T works closely with. Divemaster Candidate Ed, all we have got to say is p-ew :-)

I.D.T and Tech Divers did get to push the line limit in the Vortex Spring underwater cave system. We did a great push that had the limestone screaming, and the belly was saying it needed to drop a pound or two. Belly to back, floor to ceiling, what a great technical dive and kudos to Mike Wallace (who teaches the cavern and intro to cave classes) for setting up the dive, and Dave Campbell for clearing the way.

You can see some pics of the labor day trip by following the link www.community.webshots.com/user/mwallace61 and clicking the Vortex and Vortex2 folders.

Rodney, I.D.T
